Supreme Possum: Fine Wool Possum Fur Blend
The Woolshed @ Manuka stocks the beautiful and warm and soft and yummy Supreme Possum Wool Yarn. It is like cashmere but softer and better and warmer and much more insulating.There is nothing so luxurious as Supreme Possum Wool especially when it is knitted into some lovely gloves or socks.
We have had heaps of inquirys from people who have Raynaud's Syndrome about this Yarn. Yep it is perfect for any one who has Raynaud's syndrome as it is 40% warmer than pure fine merino wool. (Stop the flare up )

The brushtail Possum was introduced in New Zealand back in 1837. It has no predators there and has become a nuisance destroying the habitat of native animals. 5% of each ball of 40% possum fur wool is donated to the enviromental efforts to help save the kiwi and the kokako birds.

The Australian Brush Tail Possum and the Tasmanian possum is a ferral introduced species in New Zealand. They do not have any natural predators and have expanded their population to such an extent that they are damaging the environment and placing extreme pressure on native New Zealand wildlife and birds.
